Purpose
The Ecommerce Merchandising & Operations Executive owns the day-to-day commercial performance of the storefronts allocated to the role. This is a trading and merchandising led position: the primary purpose is to grow online sales by reading performance data daily, diagnosing where a gap sits, and acting on it through on-site merchandising, product focus, placement and campaign execution.
This is an entry point into ecommerce trading and merchandising. The role is designed to build commercial judgement in a structured way, moving from reading performance, to diagnosing it, to owning the weekly trading actions for the storefronts in scope. Market allocation may change over time as the business grows, and the role is expected to support wider ecommerce priorities beyond any single market. The role reports to the Ecommerce Operations Manager
Key Accountabilities
Trading Performance and Commercial Ownership
- Own the daily trading performance of the storefronts allocated to the role by reviewing volume, conversion and revenue against forecast every working day, identifying where the business is off pace and taking or recommending action the same week, to protect and grow online sales.
- Diagnose performance gaps to product and cause level, rather than category level, by working through the performance drivers in sequence (sessions, conversion rate, volume before returns, return rate, volume after returns, average item value and net sales) to establish whether a shortfall is driven by traffic, conversion, stock availability or price, so that the correct lever is pulled and the correct team is engaged.
- Produce a weekly trading read covering performance against forecast, best and worst performing products, and the actions taken or required, by using site analytics and internal reporting, to give the Ecommerce Operations Manager and wider team a clear, evidence-based view of performance.
- Monitor and report weekly on commercial performance measures including digital availability, sell-through rate by category and full-price sales mix, across the storefronts in scope, to flag underperforming categories early and recommend pricing or placement actions that protect revenue and margin.
- Track competitor activity, local market events and seasonal demand patterns across the markets in scope through ongoing research, to anticipate trading opportunities and inform campaign and assortment recommendations ahead of time.
Digital Merchandising and Site Execution
- Own the trading and merchandising calendar for the storefronts in scope by planning launches, promotions and seasonal campaigns in line with brand priorities, and sequencing them to local demand, to ensure each market trades to its own calendar rather than duplicating another.
- Execute and optimise on-site merchandising across the storefronts in scope, including collection structure, product listing page sequencing, hero placement, navigation and featured slots, by responding to weekly performance and internal search behaviour, to improve product discoverability and drive conversion.
- Manage product presentation and site hygiene, including catalogue accuracy, product data quality, categorisation, pricing updates and markdown execution on the ecommerce platform, to maintain a commercially sound and accurate storefront at all times.
- Apply taxonomy and attribute standards across all product data in line with brand global standards, by maintaining naming conventions and category hierarchies, to support accurate search, filtering and navigation across all storefronts.
- Gather and validate SKU and product data from cross-functional teams for all categories, executing each product launch through the product information and bulk upload tools, to deliver accurate, on-time launches that protect site integrity and sales readiness.
- Adapt merchandising and assortment focus by market, including product selection, collection priorities and campaign sequencing, based on local seasonal calendars, customer behaviour and sell-through data, to maximise market-specific commercial performance.
Key Accountabilities (Continued)
Content, Campaign and Localisation
- Deliver content updates for the storefronts in scope, including product grids, banners and campaign storytelling, by partnering with marketing, omnichannel and brand teams to plan and align content ahead of go-live, to deliver consistent, on-brand storytelling that supports campaign performance.
- Support Arabic content quality across product copy, enrichment data and static pages by reviewing, correcting and localising content on the ecommerce platform, to deliver a properly localised customer experience. Written Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
- Contribute to the creative brief for digital merchandising assets covering banners, campaign pages and promotional modules, by inputting market requirements and reviewing output against brand guidelines before publishing, to ensure customer-facing creative meets brand and conversion standards at launch.
Stock, Availability and Escalation
- Monitor stock availability and depth daily across the storefronts in scope, identifying broken sizes, out-of-stock key lines and lost sales risk, by reviewing availability against demand, to protect trading performance and prevent avoidable revenue loss.
- Escalate trading constraints clearly and early, including stock gaps, range issues, pricing approvals and site incidents, by naming the constraint, quantifying the commercial impact and requesting a decision, to ensure blockers are resolved before they materially affect performance.
- Support the cross-market stock transfer workflow by identifying opportunities where stock is better traded in an alternative market, and coordinating with the Operations team on execution, to maintain stock liquidity and maximise sell-through.
Operational Support
- Maintain working awareness of the order, fulfilment and returns process, by coordinating with the Operations team and Customer Service on issues that affect trading, to ensure commercial decisions account for operational reality.
- Support inventory accuracy across storefronts by flagging discrepancies observed between the inventory system, the warehouse management system and the ecommerce platform, to prevent overselling and stockouts.
